Whether you're experiencing a crisis or just looking to enhance and strengthen your communication, it could feel like you and your partner are stuck in a repetitive cycle of conflict or misunderstanding, leading to frustration and uncertainty about finding a solution.
As a couples and family therapist, my expertise lies in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). This premier approach to couples therapy helps both partners gain a deeper understanding of their own emotions and learn new communication methods. Through these new dialogues, couples can uncover mutual desires and needs, fostering emotional connection and resilience.
Couples therapy begins with three initial sessions. The first session involves both partners, during which a general history is gathered and goals are discussed. The second and third sessions involve an individual session for each partner, during which clients can share any important history or other details that could be relevant. After the initial assessment, all future sessions include both partners together.
Couples therapy will always be tailored to work with the needs and emotional or learning needs of the couple.
